POOH 191kms. 12 SEPTEMBER 25

KAZA TO POOH    8hrs.

After my porridge breakfast  and chatting to the Dutch cyclist, I finally got going around 8:30 am.
Was another gorgeous day in Spiti Valley and had a diversion up to Lhalung Monastery  and then onto Dhankhar high up in the mountains.

The entire route hugged the river all the way down to Pooh, mostly on a narrow one lane asphalt road with many gravel sections aswell. The scenery was spectacular all day and had only one 9452ft pass, which took ages to go over with some magnificent  vistas.
Arrived in Pooh at 4:30pm to the  Om Hotel which is on the steep mountain side with panaromic views of the river valley. The owner is a young guy and he took care of me and he even had some beer which I haven't had for weeks now.

Kaza Hotel owner  and the Dutch cyclist. Both are avid cyclists and cycle every year for four to five months somewhere in the world. What an inspiration, great talking to them about their adventures.

    Lhalung

    Dhankhar

This is the width of the road, I would pull over and stop when these guys approached.

The petrol truck drivers, they drive for six days and then have three off. Then they had me climb  inside to see their living quarters.
